Wilma Ione Ryder, born April 23, 1933 in Eugene, Oregon to Earl and Nellie Gowing. She grew up in Lorane, Oregon, where she gradated from Lorane High school. She then went to beauty collage and became a beautician working over 55 year in various salons. On November 7, 1954 she married Jack R. Ryder. and as a new Navy spouse they moved to San Diego Ca. Where she continued to work as a beautician. Their duty stations included San Diego Ca., Okinawa, Japan, Naval Air Station Coronado Ca. Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, and Cape Hatteras, NC.
On August 13, 1960 Wilma and Jack began growing their family with the addition of their first of 4 sons Dale Stephen Ryder, followed by Michael Allen Ryder September 12 1961, and twin boys Bruce and Glenn Ryder July 18, 1967. After Jack's retirement from the Navy, Wilma and family moved to Coos Bay, Oregon in 1968 and then settled in Woodburn, Oregon in the summer of 1973, where she settled and worked as a beautician at Fairway Plaza Beauty Salon and raise her family until she retired to Salem, Oregon.
Preceded in death by husband Jack Ryder, Parents Earl and Nellie Gowing, Brothers George, Willard, Harold, Marvin, and sisters Lena Horn, Lois Peterson, Lucille Gordon, Nina Aubrey. Survived by Sons Dale Ryder, Gervais, OR, Michael (Jacky) Ryder, Pittsburg, PA, Bruce (Dana) Ryder, Silverton, OR, Glenn (Tammy) Ryder, Port Orchard, WA, Brother Melvin (Phyllis) Gowing, Cottage Grove, OR, sister Maxine Reed, San Diego, CA. Grand Children, April Rains, Candy Nelson, Wendy Ryder, Matthew Ryder, Michael Ryder, Alexandra Schneider, Justin Hazen, Tiffany Lach, Amanda Ryder, Katie Ryder, Rebekka Silva, Kathryne Silva, Amanda Meier, 12 great grand children, and 1 great great grand child
