William "Bill" Charles Remy was born in Paradise, CA. He was the oldest of 3 children.Bill passed away at the age of 79 years old.Bill served in the Marine Corp from 1954-1963. He came home to Gold Beach, OR.He worked with his father in the family "saw shop" for a few years, then worked for the US Forest Service in Gold Beach. He then transferred to Silver Lake, OR for many years.He took on early retirement to become the Postmaster of the Christmas Valley, ORPost Office. Bill also worked at the US Air Force Over-The-Horizon Backscatter Radar System Program from 1991- 1997. After retirement, his favorite job was driving tractor for the local farmers in Christmas Valley, ORBill attended the First Baptist Church in Gold Beach, OR, there he started the "Mens Breakfast" and was famous for his biscuits. After moving to Christmas Valley, OR in 1976, he continued his ministry starting "Mens Breakfast" there at the Christmas Valley Community Church, where his famous biscuits were appreciated for about 30 years.Bill also served as fire chief for the volunteer fire department in Christmas Valley for a few years.He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Barbara Jean Remy, his children; Neal Remy, Lori Adams and Cheri VanLaar. Also brother Thomas and sister Catherine.8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who knew him as their "Loving Poppa".Graveside service with military honors will be held Wed.
