On Sunday, November 27th, Walter Bruce Baird passed away with his children at his side. He was born on January 6, 1933 in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Benson High School in Portland and then Oregon State University.

Walter served in the US Army in the Korean War and then transitioned into long service with the Army National Guard, finally retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Walter had long careers with both Multnomah County and Pacific Power before retiring to Woodburn, Oregon where he enjoyed golf, square dancing, and reading.

Walter married Patricia Nettleton and is survived by his four children he had with her: Brian, Susan, Phillip, and Alan; as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was married a second time to Susan Ayers.

He will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery on Monday, December 19th with military honors.
