In Loving Memory of Virginia "Ginger" Avila
1941 - 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia "Ginger" Avila. Born in 1941 to Fred and Tillie Swartz in California, Ginger is preceded in death by her brother Jerry and is survived by her brother Andrew, known as Sonny, residing in California.
She found happiness in her 32-year marriage to Henry Avila until his passing in 2000 at the age of 59. Together, they built a blended family of five children.
A devoted homemaker, Ginger raised her family in Woodburn, where she dedicated her time to various creative pursuits. She was a talented potter, macramé artist, painter, crocheter, needlepointer, and seamstress. An avid reader, she also enjoyed growing and canning her own fruits and vegetables.
Ginger leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and warmth. She is survived by her five children: Keith Avila (Rhonda), Michelle O'Donnell (David), Lisa Deane, Anthony Avila (Roberta), and Annette Hobson (Tom), as well as 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren—each a testament to the love she shared with her family.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
