Victor L. Kimmel, 92, of Woodburn, Oregon, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 12, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1933, in Kansas before the family relocated to a farm in Hermiston, Oregon. Vic attended Hermiston schools up until his senior year, when he transferred to Stanfield High School. He was an accomplished athlete, competing in state championships in track and field during his senior year.

He married his wife, Eva, in April 1952, just before he graduated from high school. After graduation, he was drafted into the Army. He served during the Korean War but spent most of his time stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he and Eva moved to Donald, Oregon, for a few years before settling in Woodburn, Oregon, where he lived most of his life. Victor and Eva had four children, whom they loved greatly. Victor worked several jobs before being hired as a production foreman at Fiber Fab in 1971. After his retirement in 1998, he devoted his time to being a grandparent, a job at which he excelled.

Victor’s faith was a very important part of his life. At just 5 years old, he accepted Jesus as his Savior. Even in his nineties, there was rarely an evening when Victor skipped his prayers. After moving to Woodburn, he attended Woodburn Assembly of God Church, where he served in various capacities.

Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Eva; infant daughter, Vicki Lynn; brother-in-law, Lloyd; and parents, Melvin and Mildred Kimmel. He is survived by his children, Lori, Daryl (Rennea), and Diane; sisters, Vernita and Ardith (Gerald); grandchildren, Jamie (Danny), Jenni (Chris), Joe (Erica), Zach (Dakota), Marissa, Bethany, and Elijah; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Victor is remembered as a kind man who cared deeply about others and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Everyone who met him commented on how kind and gracious he was. He had a great sense of humor and was always looking for ways to make others laugh. He rarely stopped moving and had a work ethic that could be rivaled by very few. He was patient and slow to anger, which came in handy while raising his children and grandchildren. Victor was a great father, grandfather, brother, and son. He was beloved by his family and will be deeply missed.
