Venita Frances Jones was called home to Jesus on March 7th at the age of 93—a few days shy of her 94th birthday. She was born on March 10th, 1930 in Hitchita Oklahoma. Much of her childhood was spent in California, where she eventually met and wed William "Junior" Jones in 1947. She was a devoted wife to Junior for 72 years until his passing in 2019. In 1959, they moved to Oregon, raising their three daughters on a berry farm in Hubbard. Venita also worked at newspaper companies such as Eagle Web Press to support her family, who always came first. She was a delight to her family, showcasing the best example of a mother and grandmother. She took care of others before herself, and modeled Christian values. The Joneses retired in the Woodburn Senior Estates, where they called home for over 20 years. Above all, Venita's caring spirit will be greatly missed by all of those that knew her. She is survived by daughters Cathy (Kerry) Zacher of Donald, Pam Christopherson of Bremerton, Wa, and Nancy (Steve) Davidson of St. Paul; along with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association as a tribute to Venita.
