Valerie Ann Hender Kenagy May 26th 1960 - November 23rd 2012Valerie Ann Hender Kenagy of Woodburn passed away peacefully in the morning hours at Salem Hospital, and is now with her Lord and Savior. Born in Arcadia, California to Thomas and Anna Hender, Valerie moved with her family to Corvallis in 1977, and graduated from Crescent Valley High School in 1978. She completed her B.S., Social and Behavioral Sciences (Cum Laude) in 2009 at Linfield College. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin Kenagy of Woodburn, brother-in-law Ian Moore and sister Heather Hender of Portland, and mother Anna May Hender of Corvallis. Kirsteen Elizabeth Hender and Thomas Alfred Hender, beloved sister and father, preceded her passing. Valerie's generous and loving spirit made her a natural defender of lost and homeless pets, and she worked tirelessly to give Woodburn's cats and kittens a better life. She loved all of God's creatures. She had a special place in her heart for her cats, most of whom were adopted strays. She spent many happy hours at the Oregon Coast with her family. Valerie remained a bright light and loving daughter, wife, and sister despite her long struggle with Cystic Fibrosis. We will always be thankful to have had her in our lives and will miss her greatly.Funeral arrangements are in the care of Cornwell Colonial Chapel- Woodburn, OR 97071 www.cornwellcolonial.com .
