WOODBURN A tragic mountain bike accident took the life of Troy Bauman, 35, on Wednesday afternoon, January 14th. Troy was riding trails with friends west of Dallas, Oregon when the accident occurred.
Troy enjoyed farming with his Dad Tom Bauman in the Woodburn area. Among the many crops they harvested, his favorite was hazelnuts. When his Grandpa Bauman could no longer care for his beloved pigs, Troy stepped in to take that job and found, quite to his surprise, that he loved it.
Troy will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and love of his family. He was proud of his wife, Eri whom he married in 2007, and daughters Claire (3), Emily (1) and a little one that's expecting in June. He is survived by his father Tom and his wife Lea Dymoke, of Woodburn and his mother Becky Kutcher and her husband Lani Kutcher of Molalla. Also surviving are his sister Shae Rieff, Keizer and brothers Tom of Laguna Hills, CA and Tim James, Tigard; step-sisters Bridget Deal, Brooke Burgess and Brittnie Holland; maternal grandfathers George Jansen, CA and Dave Roberts of Gold Hill, OR; paternal grandmother Margaret Bauman, Woodburn; uncles Ottis Roberts, Gold Hill OR and Kevin Roberts of Sweet Home, OR as well as an extensive Bauman family in the Woodburn area.
