Teresa Annette Gallagher, 57, of Woodburn, Oregon, died Nov. 25, 2015.
Teresa was born at Loring AFB, Maine, the fifth of eight children to William
J. Gallagher of Bennington, Vermont and Cecile Gallagher of New
Brunswick, Canada. The senior Gallagher's career in the U.S. Air Force
kept the family on the move throughout her childhood, which was spent in
Maine, England, South Dakota, Vermont, Illinois, New Jersey, Japan, and
Texas. Teresa graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio.
Teresa's greatest loves were family and her canine companions. She was
a gentle soul with a big heart who led a life of quiet introspection, searching
for answers to the problem of suffering across spiritual teachings, from
those of Christ to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Although her burden was
heavy, her sense of humor remained keen and lighthearted—a great,
joyous gift to those who loved her and suffered with her.
Teresa is survived by mother Cecile Gallagher of San Antonio, Texas;
sisters Lorraine and Carol of San Antonio, and Kathleen of Austin; brothers
John Marc of Granada, Nicaragua, Bill of Woodburn, and Kevin of Dallas;
sisters-in-law Katherine, Gail, Caitlin and Janice; brother-in-law Rhodney;
nieces and nephews whom she adored; and her beloved dog, Henri. She is
pre-deceased by her father and brother, Michael, and canine companions
Jacques and Tai. Blessed in her time of need, Teresa also leaves behind
caring friends and neighbors in Woodburn, and a group of awesome, loving
colleagues at the Department of Justice, Division of Child Support, in
Salem, Oregon.
