Tammie Theresa Grossen, age 57, passed away December 1, 2017 at her home in Woodburn. Tammie was born August 9th, 1960 in Silverton, Oregon to Alan Schmidt and Theresa Pitman.
She attended schools in Mt. Angel and Silverton, graduating from Silverton High School in 1978. Tammie married Ivan Grossen on June 28, 1980 in Woodburn, Oregon. She was a wonderful loving mother who home-schooled her daughters and a hard working wife who managed her husband's business. Tammie cared deeply about her family and was the oldest sister to three siblings. As a caring and generous friend, she showed hospitality to many. Her smile and laugh will always be remembered. Tammie enjoyed fiber arts, reading, coffee with friends, and beachcombing. She was also a talented jewelry maker who liked to design pieces for her family and friends. Tammie had a strong Christian faith and belonged to Mid Valley Community Church in Woodburn.
Tammie is survived by her husband Ivan Grossen; daughters Jessamy (Travis) Rush and Joelle Grossen; mother Theresa Pitman; brother Jeff (Lori) Schmidt; sisters Brenda (Ronnie) Brown, and Stephanie (Chris) Cypert, as well as twelve nieces and nephews. Tammie was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 am, Saturday, December 9th at Church on the Hill, 2707 Maranatha Ct. SE, Turner OR. A potluck lunch reception will be hosted at the church and interment will follow at Champoeg Cemetery in Aurora.
