Sheldon is now shaking hands with God. He passed away from Alzheimer Disease and congestive heart failure. He was a proud Norwegian and always enjoyed his lefse and lutefisk!He was born in Silverton, Oregon to Ben Hans and Emma Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ben Jr. and wife Colleen Walter Johnson. He is survived byhis daughter Karen Johnson of Salem and two sister-in-laws Paula Moen and LindaJohnson.He graduated from Woodburn High School in 1948. He served in the Oregon NationalGuard from 1951to 1956 out of the Woodburn Unit. He was proud to participate for a number of years in the Veteran Day Ceremonies in the Willamette Valley.He worked in the grocery business for 35 years as a Food Broker with West CoastGrocery, Fenwick-Pickett, Inc. and Johnson-Leiber Inc. His territories included theValley, Central Oregon and Coast area. Sheldon also enjoyed working at Norpac, theBrooks facility for 14 years.Sheldon was always a "Cowboy and Gentleman". He enjoyed meeting his friends dailyfor a cold one. His passion was raising Arabian horses and following the Rodeo statsto the National Rodeo Finals. He enjoyed St. Paul Rodeo's annual trail rides. He and hisdaughter were successful in campaigning and showing Arabians thoughout the PacificNorthwest states.
