On December 20, 2023, Shawn Marie Smith (Forrette) passed away. She was 60 years old.
Shawn was born December 4th, 1963, to parents Ronald and Shirley Forrette in South Dakota. When she was a year old, the family moved to Medford, Oregon, where she grew up. Later, she moved to Salem, Oregon, where she attended Chemeketa Community College to earn her degree in computer Science. She worked as a Systems Analyst for the State of Oregon and was especially proud of her work involving the implementation of the State's current Hospital System.
Shawn was always very caring. She had a tendency to put everyone else's needs before her own. She was proud of being the first of her family to earn a college degree and raising two daughters on her own.
Shawn is survived by her husband (Brent Smith), 4 children (Randi, Ronni, Tyler, and Madison), 2 grandchildren (Lily and Joshua), Seven step-grandchildren (Jessie, Cameron, Katherine, Emerson, Hudson, Henley and Heidi), Her mother (Shirley Forrette), and her brothers (Vincent and Lane). She is now with her father (Ronald Forrette) in heaven.
Services are Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:30 am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, Keizer, Oregon. Arrangements are under the care of Simon Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
