Sharon (Kathy) Kathleen Rossman Black
Born: October 21, 1952
Died: April 30, 2016
Kathy was born in Oregon City, OR to George and Sharon Rossman. She was the first of three girls. She grew up in West Linn, OR and attended West Linn High School and Oregon State University.
In 1979, Kathy married the love of her life, Ronald Black, and began their life together in Tigard, OR. There they welcomed daughter Chelsea in 1982 and son Andrew in 1985. In 1986, they built their dream home in West Linn where she resided until her death.
In 1975, Kathy began working at the family business, Rossman Sanitary Service, eventually becoming a part owner until selling the business in 2000 and retiring.
Kathy loved the outdoors, spending her time both water and snow skiing, windsurfing, and hiking. She especially loved laying by her pool and was well known for her year round glow. She had a great love for travel, whether it be across Europe or on an African safari, driving her motorhome across Oregon while fishing and seeing the sights, or spending time at her cabin on Mt. Hood.
Her greatest love was her family. They would have game nights where they would spend their time playing board games, card games, and outdoor games, and where she would grill up a delicious meal on the BBQ. She took tremendous joy when they were all together.
The service will be held Friday, May 6th at 11 am at Cornwell Colonial Chapel with interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City.
