Richard Michael WEAVER Dick Weaver was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 25, 1934 to Arthur and Gertrude Weaver. His family moved to Portland, OR in 1944. Dick attended Duniway Elementary and Cleveland High School where he was elected Student Body President, played baseball, basketball, and football - serving as Co-Captain and winning awards at quarterback/tailback. He pledged Phi Gamma Delta at Oregon State University and was a proud Fiji and Beaver. In 1957, Dick married Mary Hanigan of Cathlamet, WA with whom he had five kids: Christopher Michael, Kristin (Scott Bos), Scott (Diane Ramirez), Jonathan "Jon" (Cynda Hagan) and Elizabeth "Libby" (John Papillion). After 4 years at various USAF installations they returned to Portland where Dick embarked on successful careers in life insurance and real estate. He earned the distinctions of Outstanding New Agent by his firm and Rookie of the Year by the Oregon Life Underwriter's Association. In December 1974, Dick married Linda Adamson of Tacoma, WA. Along with Linda's two kids, Dana Berry and Jeff, the couple established residence in Lake Oswego, OR where they lived for the next 33 years. They enjoyed boating, sports, travel, many close friendships, and attending the activities of their kids and grandkids. Dick Weaver passed away at his home in Wilsonville, OR on February 28, 2014. He will be remembered as a gentleman of humor, enthusiasm, and warmth. Dick loved his family and friends, his pets, helping clients, the comfort of a saddle and baseball mitt, polished shoes, golf, and his beloved Beavers. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 39 years, 6 children, 12 grandchildren, sister Connie Milne of Everett, WA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dick was predeceased by his first son, Christopher Michael, and his granddaughter, Kathleen Marie Weaver. A celebration of Dick's life will be held at Eastmoreland Golf Course in Portland, OR at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 6, 2014.
