Obituary

Richard Jack Eskelsen, 75, died 02/22/2022 at his home in Woodburn, Oregon. The cause of death was cancer resulting from exposure to Agent Orange while serving in the US Army in Vietnam.
At his request no service will be held.
Richard was born December 23, 1946. in Danbury, Iowa. He attended school in Woodburn and graduated from Merritt Davis Business School in Salem. After retiring from the Army, he worked for Mitchell Brothers Trucking in Portland, where he retired in 2018.
Richard was one of eleven siblings. He is survived by his brother Paul Eskelsen of Newberg, Oregon and sisters Laurel Zurlinden of Woodburn, Oregon, Linda Elliott of Reston, Virginia, Mary Moran of Sebring, Florida, Sandra Thompson of Sweet Home, Oregon and Kathi Korepta of Lebanon, Oregon.
Richard joined the Army to see the world. He traveled through Europe and saw some of Asia while on leave from the jungles of Vietnam. He was awarded 4 Bronze Stars while serving his country.
Family was the most important thing to Richard. He died surrounded by those who loved and cherished him.
