Raymond J. Krieger Jr. November 9, 1927 - January 3, 2021.
Raymond J. Krieger Jr. passed away at the Salem Hospital Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the age of 93. He was born November 9, 1927 in Aurora Oregon to Raymond J. Krieger Sr. and Ivy Mae Burkholder Krieger. He attended Woodburn High School and during World War II he entered the Merchant Marine in 1943 at the age of 16. He served on several Merchant ships ferrying supplies to the armed forces in Europe. In 1945, he spent two days in a life boat when his ship went down near the Aleutian Islands.
After his discharge from the Merchant Marine he served in the army from 1947 to 1948. After his honorable discharge from the army, he owned and operated several service stations throughout Oregon. He later owned and operated restaurants in Stayton and Woodburn Oregon. After selling the restaurants, he worked in the food processing business until his retirement.
Raymond is widowed and is survived by his brother Jack R Krieger and two sons, Michael Krieger and Kevin Krieger.
