Ralph David Gustavson, of Lake Oswego, Oregon died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Meridian Park Hospital after a short fight with pneumonia.Born in Jamestown, New York, June 10, 1930, to Arthur and Signe Gustavson.Ralph was a natural born forester and talented musician, who enjoyed summer camps with the Scouts and planting trees for Mr. Dobbins on the hills above Lake Chautauqua. From 1951 to 1953 he served in the US Army Infantry in Korea. In 1954 he married Janet Yvonne Furman, who passed away in 1987. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1957 from The State University of New York College of Forestry at Syracuse, and went on to work as a Forester for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in WA and OR for 33 years. He loved to garden, and to play and listen to music. For many years in Aberdeen WA, he was a member of the Grays Harbor Community Choir and Symphony, and the United Methodist Choir. He sang in numerous musicals and cantatas, and played his French horn in Pops concerts and Symphonies. In 1989 he married Bonnie Johnson. He continued to pursue his love of music, to travel and garden, and to walk the beach, hunting for agates. Most of all, he was a loving husband, wonderful brother, father, grandpa, and great grandpa, and a great friend. Ralph is survived by his wife, Bonnie, his two sons Don and Doug; Step son Tim and Step Daughter Beth; his sisters Alice and Carolyn His brothers Darwin and Harry; His Grandchildren, Carrie, Elsa, Reece, Erik, Christopher, Alan, William, Alex, Carmen, and Zoe. His Great Grand Children; Yvette and Henri.
