Penelope Ellora Sealy Jones, "Penny", age 72 of Woodburn , passed away on Saturday September 9th, in her home, after a hard fought battle against Ovarian Cancer. A celebration of life will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Woodburn on Saturday September 23rd at 1:00 in the afternoon with Rev. David K. Morelli officiating. Penny was born in 1944 in Longview, WA the daughter of the late Maxwell Clifford Jones Sr. and Mary Isabelle Tickner Jones. Penny graduated from Umatilla High School then went on to earn a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Oregon State University and a Masters Degree in Reading Education. She was a Title I Reading Teacher in Scio for 26 years touching countless lives. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling and spending time with her 6 grandchildren. Penny was active in many organizations most notably the Woodburn Chapter of PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) with a focus on college scholarships for underprivileged youth. Penny spent her retirement years exploring the wonders of the world from the Panama Canal to the Egyptian Pyramids with her husband and lifelong friends. Penny was always ready for the next adventure and never stopped learning. Penny is survived by her loving husband, H. John Sealy, her son, Bradford Sealy, his wife, Stacey Martinson and their son, Carson of Portland, her daughter Natalie Haima, her husband Chad and their children, Madison, Alex and Alyssa or Tigard, her daughter Erica Fischer, her husband Harold and their children Daniel and Valerie or Parkdale and her brother, Bruce V. Jones of Hermiston. Penny will be missed by all who knew her, her vibrant spirit, faith and zest for adventure were a joy to witness and a testimony to someone who lived life to the fullest.
