Odelia (Odie) Alaniz, a beautiful soul, passed away on Saturday, April 8th, 2023 of natural causes. She was born on October 8th of 1956 in Mercedes, Texas to her late parents Cruz and Olivia Garcia.

Odelia was the eldest of her four siblings, and with hard work and determination she graduated with honors from North Marion High School in the class of 1974. Being a true bookworm she pursued a degree in hair design, excelling at Phagans School of Beauty.

In her off time she enjoyed crocheting blankets, listening and dancing to Tejano music, and above all else, spending time with family. Odelia had a sense of humor, as she was always laughing and joking, but it was her contagious laugh that touched everyone and created memories in itself.

She was a loving mother of four, a grandmother to eight, and a great-grandmother to one. She will be cherished in memory with so much love by all that knew her.
