Norman William Scott 1934-2020

Norman William Scott passed away at age 86, peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, August 2, 2020.

He leaves behind his children, his son Randy Scott, his daughters, Elyse Scott and Angela Marcotte, and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucile Scott, brother Gordon Scott and sister Diane Cummins.

Born in Portland, Oregon, and raised at his family home in Tigard, Oregon, Norm attended Tigard High School and then was drafted into the US Army in 1956. He was a Veteran and was discharged from the military with Honors.

As a lifelong commercial truck driver, Norm started logging and log truck driving in the Tillamook Burn forest and continued onto his Teamster Driver Profession, which included the Hiway Post Office Bus, the Portland to Ogden team driver Mail route, Grandma Cookie lead driver and he finished his career at Don Sprague Sales until retirement.

One of Norm's lifelong passions was being a volunteer firefighter for Tualatin Fire Department, where he met and kept many close friends. He was also an avid fan of racing and was a member of the Terra Trackers Jeep Club and a Nascar enthusiast.

A private family service is planned for August 6, 2020, with internment at Crescent Grove Cemetery in Tigard, Oregon.
