Norman Ashland was born on the family farm ( 2 miles east of Woodburn) , the youngest of nine children. He was 89 years of age and passed away at French Prairie Nursing Home. His parents were Nels and Anna Ashland, both were immigrants from Norway.Norman served in the Army during WWII. He ran his own refrigeration business until heart problems caused his early retirement.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 48 years Angie and his eight siblings; Helen, Agnes, Nelma, Kenneth, Ella, Harold, Lloyd and Dagny.He is survived by his loving partner and friend Darlene Ford. Also many nieces and nephews, many friends as he was a very pleasant helpful person.Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and any persons who blessed Norman and made him comfortable and happy.Graveside service with military honors will be held at Belle Passi Cemetery at Woodburn on Sat.
