In Memory of Neva " Peggy " Matter

Peggy as she went by was born on a farm south of Lamberton, MN. She was the 8th child of a family of 12 children. She loved helping out in the fields. She also talked a lot of growing up in the depression of the 30's. She loved knitting and crocheting and also working in the yard.


She was married to Darwin " Bud " Matter on April 5th, 1944. He was in the Navy for 20 years and retired at 37. She lived on the east coast, west coast and also Hawaii during his time in the service. They moved to Minnesota and later California. The last move was to Oregon where they made their home in Molalla for 32 years. Peggy moved to Woodburn Senior Estates after Bud passed away on April 14th, 2001. They were married 57 years.



They were blessed with 5 children. 2 had preceded her in death. Larry at age 2 and Melody at age 22. The 2 were their first born. She is survived by Yvonne Haughton of Vancouver WA, Charles Matter of Washougal WA and Roxie Gregory of Salem OR. 5 Grandchildren, Jared Haughton, Trenton Haughton, Brittany Matter, Brooklin Keeton and Kurin Matter. 4 great grandchildren, Neomiah and Addy Haughton, Ridge and Rory Keeton.



She came from a family of 12 children, 5 brothers and 5 sisters have preceded her in death. Her surviving sister is Dudie Moots from Idaho



She was a member of St Luke Catholic church in Woodburn, OR.



She lived a great life of 98 years and 2 months and 21 days. May her memory be blessed.
