Obituary

Nancy Kay Woodside of Woodburn, Oregon, was born to Allen and Shirley Miller, August 26, 1942, in Chico, California. She went home to be with her heavenly father on July 28, 2024, at the age of 81, after a short battle with cancer.
She grew up in Grass Valley, CA and attended Nevada Union High School, then Simpson College for a time before marrying her husband Leonard in 1963. They welcomed their first child, Cindy, in 1964 and then moved to Sonora, CA where their second child, Ken, was born in 1966. They raised their family there in the foothills of northern California.
Church was an important part of Nancy's life, and she also enjoyed music very much. She started playing the piano in church at a young age and continued doing that for many years. She also sang in a ladies' trio and in several choirs. She and Leonard were founding members of Sierra Bible Church in Sonora.
Nancy had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home. She was a great cook and wonderful baker. She enjoyed entering recipes in cooking contests and went to the Pillsbury Bake-Off three different times. Neighbors and friends looked forward to the plates of Christmas cookies she made for them every year.
When her children were young Nancy was a stay-at-home mom and gave piano lessons in her home. Later she became a caregiver for several years for a lady that was bed ridden.
In their retirement years Nancy and Leonard were able to travel quite a bit to other countries and around the United States. They also found time to go on quite a few cruises, which they enjoyed very much. In the late 1990's they moved to Arizona for a few years and then to Florida for a time before settling in Oregon.
She was such a nice thoughtful lady that cared about people and was interested in their lives and always found someone to talk with wherever she went. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Burton Miller. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leonard Woodside, of Woodburn, OR, her daughter Cindy (Steve) Kufeldt of Woodburn, OR, her son Ken Woodside of Philomath, OR, grandchildren Seth (Mariah) Kufeldt of Portland, OR, Abby (Ryan) Harms of Salem, OR, Lucas Woodside of Corvallis, OR, brother Richard Miller of Santa Rosa, CA, and sister-in-law JoAnn Miller of Pacifica, CA.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Hoodview Church of God, 1530 Mt. Hood Avenue, Woodburn, Oregon.
