Melvin Wallace Burck (Wally), 85, died peacefully at home April 19, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie Burck; his daughter, Patty Dogan; his son, Jerry Burck; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Wally attended Whiskey Hill Grade School and Canby High School, graduating in 1949. He married Bonnie Mae Kropf June 21, 1953. They moved to Pendleton where they worked in the Eastern Oregon State Hospital for a couple of years.
Wally then worked for the Oregon State Forestry Department until he and his family moved to Damascus, Oregon when he became employed by the U.S. Forest Service.
He retired in 1984 and continued happily working on the tree farm he and Bonnie bought in Beavercreek, Oregon.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Tuesday April 25, 2017 at Calvary Mennonite Church in Aurora, Oregon.
