Pete was born to Leonard and Viola Grimm in Toledo, Ohio Jan. 20, 1927. Died Mar. 31, 2012 at Woodburn.Pete was raised by his grandparents and graduated from high school in Lockhart, TX. In 1946 he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He attended and graduated from Texas Lutheran College in Sequin, TX in 1953. During his summers from 1948 to 1956 he, with college friends, worked in the wheat fields and frozen food companies in the Lewiston, ID area. It was there he met his wife, Arvella Rasmussen, whom he married on Aug. 26, 1956. Couple a came to Woodburn in 1967 where he was employed in the packaging depart. of General Food Corp., Birds Eye Division and later with Agri-Pac. He retired in 1993Pete's family, friends and church family remember him as a man of integrity and faith who loved singing in the church choir. He had a great memory for jokes which he readily shared and had a ready supply of chocolate. Pete was a life long Lutheran and a member of Immanuel since 1967.His wife, Arvie preceded him in death in March 1999. Survived by siblings; Elroy Grimm of New Jersey and Virginia Ivy of Texas. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Alan Rasmussen, Woodburn, Bob Rasmussen, WA and Bill Rasmussen of ID and many special friends ; Wally and Lutherene Strand, Woodburn and Bob and Donna Breitkreutz, Myrtle Point.Memorial Service will be held Sat.- April 14, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Woodburn.Memorials may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice at 1015 3rd St NW.
