Obituary

Margene LaVerne May, beloved wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, went to sleep in Jesus on March 17th, 2018. She was 83 years young.

Margene was born in Alamosa, Colorado on September 23, 1934 to Gladys and Eston Hughes.
Time found her living in Crescent City, California where she met the love of her life, George "Sonny" May when she was just 17.
They wed in Reno, on September 30, 1952, the beginning of 65 wonderful years.
Over the next eight years, they were blessed with five children together. The two remained loving partners as Sonny served in the military, as they raised their children, and worked side by side in their dry cleaning businesses.
They retired in Woodburn, Oregon, where they surrounded themselves with their treasured friends at the Panor condominiums.

Margene felt such joy as she became a grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Eldon, and daughter Geri.
She is survived by her beloved husband Sonny of 65 years, sister Colleen of Grants Pass,
children Debbie (Ray), Larry (Wendy), Sue, and Kori, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margene was a faithful Seventh Day Adventist, and lived as an example of His Love for us.
Margene is already greatly missed, and we are all grateful for the blessing of having her in our lives.

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed
about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve.
For we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus
those who have fallen asleep in him."
