Obituary

Madge Elizabeth Stein Henderson passed away peacefully at her home in Keizer, Oregon with her son and his wife at her side on August 7, 2025, at the age of 79. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Madge was born on June 26, 1946, in Portsmouth, OH. Madge resided in New Jersey where she married Frank Piskorowski and raised their 3 children. She then moved to Keizer, Oregon in 1999 when she married Lyle Henderson.
Madge was a devoted servant of God, whose unwavering faith touched everyone she met. It was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joys and trials. She shared this faith openly with her family and friends—planting seeds of hope and encouragement in countless hearts. Her love was steadfast, her convictions unshakable, and her legacy continues in the lives she shaped.
Madge graduated nursing school in 1980 and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Somerset Medical Center for 19 years. She served patients with compassion and skill, earning the admiration of colleagues and the gratitude of countless families.
Daughter of the late Robert W. Stein, Jr. and Dorothy Crabtree Stein Geary, Madge will be deeply missed by her children, Christine and Dan Fuerstenberg, Lorie and Mark Rizzo, and Frank and Nikki Piskorowski as well as her grandchildren Ricky, Alex, and Michael Longstreth, Jonathan and Monica Rizzo, and Tyzer Redondo; her great grandchildren Amelia and Charlie Longstreth; her sister Barbara Goldberg; her brother Robert W. Stein III; and dozens of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lyle Henderson; her grandson, Matthew Piskorowski and her sister Linda Waycaster.
Madge will be remembered for her fierce determination and unshakable resilience. Life demanded strength from her, and she met it with grit and resolve. She had a real love of cooking, from baking a fierce lemon meringue pie from scratch to preparing meals that brought people together. She found joy in simple pleasures—trips to Long Beach Island (LBI), a night at the casino, cheering for a good football game, or matching wits over a lively Scrabble board. She also cherished her love of Ireland and all things Celtic and was deeply moved by the beauty of orca whales and the majesty of the redwood trees.
