Born to Robert and Dionysia Dawson on Nov. 6, 1920 in Morganza Louisiana, Lyle Anne was the eldest of seven children.She graduated with a bachelor of Arts from Newcombe College at Tulane University.She met Harold Eichsteadt, her husband of 58 years in New Orleans, where he was stationed in the Army during WWII. They moved to Oregon in 1949, finally settling in Woodburn in 1950.Lyle was a member of numerous organizations throughout her lifetime, which included the Catholic Daughters of America, Shalom Center in Mt Angel Evangelical Ministry and the Woodburn Art League of which she was a founding member.She was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts for years and volunteered her musical talents to the students at St. Luke School. She was a talented singer, artist, seamstress, cook, cake decorator, story teller, dancer, writer and Mom. She was also a devout member of St. Luke Catholic Church for over 60 years where she also sang in the choir, proclaimed the word and brought Eucharist to the home bound. She is survived by her brother Quentin Dawson. Her children; Kay McEwen, Guy Eichsteadt, Jodee Midura, Mary Curtis, John Eichsteadt, Teresa Eichsteadt , Sally Holstad, Patricia Eamons, Harold Eichsteadt Jr., 25 grandchildren, 26 grt. Grandchildren.Rosary will be held Fri. April 27, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Cornwell Colonial Chapel.Funeral Mass will be held Sat. April 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St Luke Catholic Church Woodburn.
