Luewanna Jean Reed Parish was born to Raymond Reed and Cleo Elizabeth Hasty Reed on January 8th, 1946 in Maywood, California.
She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona until her family moved to Sherwood, Oregon and then to Portland, OR where she graduated John Marshall High School. She met Amos Eugene Parish in March of 1967, and they were married on May 19th, 1967. They moved to California and settled in Riverside, CA, in 1975. They raised their 5 children in Riverside, CA, where she was also a member of Arlington Avenue Church of the Nazarene. In addition to being a mother of 5 children, she also worked as a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant. In 2004 after both Amos and Luewanna retired, they moved to Woodburn, OR to be near her parents and some of their children.
She would share with others that the most important thing in her life was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She came to know Jesus as her Savior at the age of 12 years old after her parents became involved with the Free Will Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ. Her parents and siblings were always very important to her, as they were a very close family.
