Born February 27, 1929 in Michigan City, Indiana to Roy and Juanita Terrey. After graduating from Elston High School in Michigan City, he attended Indiana State University earning a B.S. degree in real estate.
After graduation, he joined the family real estate business. In 1952, he was called up for active service into the U.S. Air Force and served in French Indochina supporting French troops. After 2 years active service, Lon spent 18 years in the reserves achieving the rank Lieutenant Colonel.
In 1979, he moved to Phoenix working as a real estate appraiser and becoming owner/operator of Western States Appraisal until his retirement. Since retirement, he has enjoyed living in Oregon with his wife Bette and extended family. In addition to Bette, he is survived by sons Bruce and John, daughter Jill, daughter in law Kathy, and 4 grandchildren. Son Robert predeceased him.
