Lois Evelyn Koval, of Woodburn, OR passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the age of 81.
Lois was born to parents Luther and Gertrude Berry on December 9, 1934 in Newark, NJ. She grew up as the eldest of 3 girls and attended Manhattan School of Music. In 1951, she met Walter Koval and they were married in 1956. Together they moved to Oregon in 1997. Lois worked as a Church Organist and Choir Director for most of her adult life and was frequently a reader at First Presbyterian Church in Woodburn.
Lois loved and was deeply loved by her family, especially Walter the love of the life. She loved music, and her church family and devoted much of her life serving. Anyone who knew Lois knows that every experience she had, every meal she ate and everyday of her life was the "Best Ever!" You could always count on her to provide a positive outlook on any situation and sooth you with calm loving words of encouragement.
Lois is survived by her husband, Walter Koval; her son, David Koval; her daughter, Eileen Hutchinson; her sisters, Judith Currie and Linda Chesner; six granddaughters; and one great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Gertrude Berry.
A Celebration of Lois' life will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016, 2-4pm at First Presbyterian Church, 950 N Boones Ferry Rd, Woodburn, OR 97071. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lois' life.
Lois' request was for donations to the First Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.
