Obituary

Lois Alvina Burghardt

March 2, 1928 -- May 12, 2017
Lois was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta Canada, to Ernest and Anne Weir, the youngest in a family of 7. On December 19, 1958 she married Vernon Burghardt; her loving husband for 58 wonderful years. She is survived by her husband, her two sons Jerald North of Yucca Valley, CA and James Burghardt of Ferndale, WA. In addition to her 3 grandchildren, Janet, Cynthia and Sara, Lois was delighted in her seven great-grandchildren. Her surviving sister, Eileen lives with her son Mark in Kimberling City, MO.
Lois and Vern moved from Canada in 1961 and settled in Long Beach, CA where they bought their first home. They then moved to Palm Springs where they worked together at Vern's company, "Desert Woodworks". Lois taught herself wood carving; a talent that led to her artwork being shown around the world. In 1992 they retired to the Pacific Northwest and bought a home in Woodburn, OR where Lois passed away peacefully - faithful to God and loved by her friends and family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel, 390 N. 2nd street, Woodburn Oregon. Doors are open for viewing at 9:00 am

She will be interned at the Family Cemetery in Brightview, Alberta; near the church where they were married.
