Linda Nadene (Blake) MainNov.24, 1921-June 13, 2013Linda Nadene (Blake) Main was born in Sultan, Washington on November 24, 1921 to Thomas and Ella Blake. She peacefully passed away in her sleep on June 13, 2013 in Wilsonville, Oregon. She was 91 years old.Growing up on their family farm in Sultan, she learned the value of hard work and helping others. The 1920s were not easy years to experience and the lessons learned created a compassionate, conservative, self- assured individual as strong as any from "The Greatest Generation". After graduating from Sultan High School in 1940 she went on to earn her Nursing Degree from Everett General Hospital graduating in 1943. It was affiliated with the University of Washington. She then enlisted in the Navy and worked at the Naval Hospital Bremerton before being assigned to The Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. As a Lieutenant she had completed her active duty July of 1946. In October of 1953 she was Honorably Discharged. August 17, 1946 she married Lauren L. Main and they enjoyed 59 wonderful years together residing in both Washington and Oregon during that time.Linda was very active and enjoyed playing golf, gardening, fishing & dancing. Always looking for an adventure she enjoyed traveling both nationally and internationally. She baked the best apple pie ever and there was never a plate left un-licked. Deeply devoted to her family she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is survived by her daughters Laurianne Page and Joelyn Francis; son Thomas Main and brother, Joseph Blake, 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.Life is a journey, Love is eternal. We will miss you, Mom, Grammy Nip, Linda ("Nip, Neva, Lulu, Blakie, Susie")A family tribute will be held at a later date at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington.
