Obituary

Everybody who knew our Keola remembers him for his contagious smile, laughter and love of life. It's how he influenced and touched all he came in contact with.
His greatest joy, though, was the birth of his three sons and being a father to them.
So, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leslie Keola Yu-Lun Jr., who passed away on Sept. 10, 2019 at the age of 48.
Keola was born on May 16, 1971, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Leslie and Kanani Ing, the youngest of three children. In 1974, the family relocated to Woodburn, Oregon.
Keola attended schools in Woodburn and graduated from Woodburn High School in 1990. He was proud to represent the Woodburn Bulldogs in the competitive sports of golf, football, wrestling and soccer.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Texas Houston Mission from 1990-92.
He attended Rick's College in Rexburg, Idaho.
In 1996, he joined the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged in 2005 after serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He married Jennifer VanReenen on Sept. 30, 2000 for time and all eternity. He loved his sons and thrived as he coached them in their various sports activities.
Keola was employed by Legacy Health from 2005-2019. Serving as a security officer brought him much gratification. He delighted in serving those around him.
Keola's passions were FOOD, travel, family and friends.
Keola is survived by his parents Leslie and Kanani Ing; Jenn; sons, Ethan, Landry and Ashton; sisters, Renee Thomas (Eric) and Sheri Ing; niece and nephew, Sara and Jonathan Thomas.
Funeral services take place on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 Country Club Road, Woodburn. A viewing will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. The funeral will follow at 10:30 a.m.
Keola will be buried at Willamette National Cemetery with full military honors.
