Lavonne Mae Burnham was born Feb. 20, 1933 in Tracy, Minnesota to Carl and Beatrice
( Pearsall) Nyquist. She died peacefully at her home Apr. 18, 2015.
The family moved to Donald, OR in 1943. She attended Newberg and Woodburn High School.
She married Charles Paige Burnham in 1950. They settled in Broadacres where they raised 6 children. They farmed berries, hay, wheat and raised pigs, sheep and cattle.
Lavonne was a hard working farm wife. She ran the berry picking crew for more than 40 years. She was a Sunday School Teacher and active church member .
She was known and admired for her baking, especially her berry pies.
She widowed in 2004 and son Dennis passed in 2007.
She is survived by her 5 children; Charlene Chapman of Woodburn, Sandra Eskelsen of Newberg, Michael of Donald, Terry of Portland and Rod of Hubbard.
She is also survived by brothers Erwin of Donald, Duane of Salem , Vernon of Bend, sisters Lorraine O'Tool of Phoenix, AZ, Loretta Spiess of Walla Walla, WA , Luella Nyquist of Milton-Freewater,10 grandchildren; Jeremy, Jeff and Tim Eskelsen, Brad, Rachael, Randy, Krista, Justin,Tyler , Alexis Burnham and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers Eugene, Theodore and Paul.
Memorial service Sat. April 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
Private Interment at Champoeg Cemetery.
