Obituary

Kathryn Werschkul, a beloved wife, mom, sister, aunt, cousin, coworker, and friend passed away on June 4th in her home at 85 years of age. The world lost a very special woman. She was kind, giving, talented, loving and tenacious. A longtime member of Kiwanis, she devoted her time and efforts to the Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp working to help disabled youth and adults have a wonderful experience of camping in the mountains.

She is predeceased by her husband Dudley of 61 years, her parents, and her sister Lynda. She is survived by her daughter Lisa, her sister Stasia, her sister Susie and brother-in-law Dave and brother-in-law Gion. Nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends will miss her greatly.

She was born in New Richland, MN and along with her family moved to Colorado, then Montana, then Oregon. She had many jobs over the years including medical technician, travel agent, and for the last 20 years Program Administrative Coordinator at Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp.

She was artistic, sang, and played the piano and even was in theater productions as a young woman.

She enjoyed time with her family playing cards, watching movies especially at Christmas and dearly loved reading. She adored all animals, especially the family dog Poppy. She was quick to help those in need and would do whatever she could to make their lives better.

The end of her life was challenged by the medical issues she faced. She did not give up and fought to the end to try to return to normal life. She will be missed by so many. The good that she did makes the world a better place for all of us.
