Katherine "Katie" Westcott passed away on January 31st, 2017.
Katie was born on December 29, 1937 at home in Aurora, Oregon. She grew up in Canby and it's neighboring cities and spent most of her life in Oregon and Idaho. She especially enjoyed the Oregon coast, where she lived for several years.
Katie loved singing, and taught many of her favorite songs to her grandchildren who are now singing them to their children. Her greatest joys were her family, and her grandchildren, who she loved to spoil. She was always ready and willing to do anything and everything they wanted, even if she wasn't supposed to!
She was strong in her faith and spent many of her last days wondering what it will be like when she meets Jesus. She greeted everyone she met with an open heart and welcoming arms and her door always remained open to anyone that needed a place to stay. Katie thoroughly enjoyed her life and was loved by so many.
She is survived by a sister, Judy Shulenberg, 4 children, David and Joe Whitney, Antonia Bravo and Raquel Bazan, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with one more due in June.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Devlin (Grimm) a sister, Eleanor "Tootsie" Lovelace, her husband Antonio Arce, a son, Serapio "Paco" Arce.
There will be a viewing and a service in Woodburn, OR at Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. with a special prayer led by Pastor Lyle at 3:00 p.m.
