June Dolores Hopkins died at the age of 93 on Dec. 19, 2014 at Canby, OR.
June was born Sept. 14, 1921 at Centralia, WA to George and Martha (Raschke) Russell.
June came to Oregon in 1926 with her family .Her father was a logger.As a child she moved from
one logging camp to another. She graduated from Mollala High School. She attended
Monmouth College for three yrs. and taught two yrs at Valsetz.
She joined the Womens Army Corp serving in WWII from 1943- 1945 . She continued her education at Oregon State University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree.
June married Howard Melvin Hopkins at Canby June 11, 1947. She continued her teaching at Hubbard, OR., where she and Howard started their family on the second generation farm. June finished her teaching carreer at Woodburn.
June enjoyed spending valued time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her hobbies included traveling, sports, reading and crafts.
The last fews years she battled dementia at Marquis Care Center at Canby and remained graceful throughout the rest of her life. June will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
June is survived by her children; Linda Hentsch, Beverly Hopkins, Gary Hopkins, Barbara Kahle,
five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Private Interment at Belle Passi Memorial Mausoleum- Woodburn.
