Joseph "Joe" Edward Bronec
March 9, 1935 ~ March 27, 2017
Joe died peacefully at home
surrounded by loving family.
Born and raised in Hubbard,
Oregon, Joe was the youngest of Mike
and Mary Elizabeth Bronec's nine children. After a childhood
of farm life and school, he joined the US Navy and
was stationed in the South Pacifi c as a Seabee. He and
his brother then assumed ownership of the family farm,
and Joe took a liking to the girl next door. He and Fritzi
(Kohlmeyer) were happily married for 53 years, living
in service of God, family, and community. Joe enjoyed
volunteering for church events, distributing food boxes
for the local St Vincent de Paul, attending antique farm
auctions, and sewing "passage quilts" for Providence
Hospital. He developed lifelong friendships with local
farmers and will be fondly remembered for his love of
good conversation and ice cream.
Joe is survived by his brother Matt, sister Lillian,
loving wife Fritzi, four children, their spouses, and 13
grandchildren: Mary Ann (husband Pat, children Joseph,
J.P., Rachel, Ruth, and Kate); Dave (wife Valerie,
daughters Bailey and Jane); Jim (wife Celeste, children
Naomi, Faith, Olivia, and Isaac); Katie (husband Neto,
children Eric and Ana). He is preceded in death by his
parents and six brothers and sisters. His gentle soul was
dearly loved by many and will be greatly
missed.
A rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. on
April 17th at St. James Catholic Church
in Molalla, followed by a Memorial Mass at
11:00 and reception luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the St. Vincent de Paul program
at St. James Catholic Church in Molalla.
