John T (Pink) Miller died peacefully on September 13, 2018. He was 91. Born in Mankins, Texas, he moved to Oregon after WWII where he met and married his wife, Colleen Duffy, in 1947. The Millers lived in the Hubbard/Woodburn area most of their lives where they raised their family and built a successful business as a Drilling Contractor, bringing drinking water and irrigation to people throughout the Willamette Valley. After retirement and always looking for a new challenge, "Pink" developed
Hubbard Self Storage, a thriving business in the community he loved. He served proudly in the Navy on the USS Pursuit during WWII. He was a volunteer fireman for the City of Hubbard and supported many local businesses and charities. He loved playing golf, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen, and his daughter, Donna Gorczewski.
He is survived by his daughters Jenny Bedell and Dorothy Baker, his son, Zack Miller-Murphy, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Friday, September 21st at Simon Cornwell Colonial Chapel, 390 N 2nd St, Woodburn OR. Viewing and a time to greet the family will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Water for People.org, Veterans of Foreign Wars (vfw.org) or Alzheimer's Foundation of America (alzfdn.org).
