John Newton Howard

Born in Hyssop Alabama, to James Howard and Bessie Bryant Howard, John graduated from Coosa County High School in Alabama, honorably served in the U.S. Army 371st Armored Infantry Battalion, in Nuremberg, Germany 1954-1956. Previously married to Lolet Pitchford until 1986. John then married Jean Cookman April 7th 1990 to whom he was widowed in 2011.

Self employed as a carpenter for most of his young life, later found employment at Lilly Miller in Portland, Oregon and eventually working as a maintenance person at Senior Estates in Woodburn, Or.
As a proud member of New Horizon Fellowship in Molalla, OR. John enjoyed his dog "Teddy", war history, travel, hunting and fishing, photography, gardening, operating his tractor and spending time with family and his church family.

John is survived by his sons Glenn Howard and Gary Howard, daughter Crystal Brons, grandchildren Olivia Howard, Summer Brons and Cody Brons, his brother Atlas Howard and nephews Tony and Kevin Howard.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday April 7th at 1:00 pm. At Grace church/ New Horizons Fellowship; 901 N Molalla Ave. Molalla, OR 97038
