John Allen Hilbert passed away on June 19, 2015, at the age of 64 while sleeping in his Wilsonville home. John was born in Rochester, NY on June 7, 1951 to Gerald and Arline Hilbert. John was the sixth of ten children.
John was a loyal and loving man. He grew up playing sports, working, fishing, camping and hunting with his family. He loved to watch the Portland Trail Blazers play basketball. John had 5 brothers and 4 sisters who loved John dearly; Jerry, Pat, Ron, Bill, Clyde, Pam, Tina, Marg and Mark. John was married to Patricia Burchfield for 22 years and had two sons, Christopher and Nathaniel. John later divorced and remarried his wife, Peggy and lived happily in Wilsonville, Oregon with her for almost 15 years. John was an incredibly hard worker beginning as a child working in the fields of California. John ran a bathtub re-glazing business for 10 years. He then moved on to being a warehouseman at Rite Aid Warehouse and retired after 25 years of service. John loved his children and grandchildren and truly enjoyed telling others about their accomplishments. He was an encouraging father and frequently told his sons how proud he was of them. He enjoyed his cats, his sports, and he even enjoyed helping out with his homeowners association.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nathaniel, his sisters: Marg, Pam, and Pat. He is survived by his wife Peggy, son Christopher (wife~Jamie), stepsons Shawn and Christopher McDaniel; mother Arline; siblings Jerry, Ron, Bill, Clyde, Tina and Mark; grandchildren Tristan, Kathryn, Devin, Aidan, Micayla, and Camron.
Funeral Service will be held at Cornwell Colonial Chapel, 29222 SW Town Center Loop E, Wilsonville, OR 97070 on June 23rd, 2015 at 1pm.
