John Carlos Arritola – Sept. 21, 1919 - Jan. 17, 2017
John Carlos Arritola, 97, passed away peacefully with family members at his bedside. He was a WWII Army veteran, receiving a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Italy in June 1944. John is preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 67 years, Florence, son Tom (Barbe) and two grandchildren. He is survived by 8 children: Rick (Char), Don (Carol), Dave, Frank (Patt), Jim (Darlene), Louise Lively (Keith), Ron (Stacy), Bob (Laura); 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. John was born and raised in Jordan Valley Oregon. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer which he enjoyed with his family. He will have a private military burial at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St Mary Catholic Church in Mt Angel at 11:00am on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
