St. Clair, James (Jim) Brian 77
September 8, 1939 to April 29, 2017
A man is often defined by titles throughout his life. Jim St. Clair held many–salesman, marketer, golfer and snowbird to name just a few.
He was born the son of Julius and Sara St. Clair. He was a favorite brother to Betty and an Uncle to Bob Riggs of Spokane and Jim Riggs of Portland who preceded Jim in death.
He was a father to Geoff St. Clair of Beaverton and Greg (Rosemary) St. Clair of Portland and with joy, shared in many of their life milestones.
His life became complete and energized when he married Janice (Jan) Austin in 1985. Together they loved to travel, golf and share a meal and a good bottle of wine with friends.
Jim was a mentor, an advisor and the patriarch of his family. He was the rock and a stabilizing force for all. He was loved and respected by Jan's children: Robert Krause (Molly) of Kansas City, Vicki Lauricella of Hillsboro, Karen Steadman (Craig) of Tigard and the late Robert Hunt of Hillsboro.
Jim's most treasured title was that of Grandpa. Attending his grandkids' events and watching them grow filled him with pride. He is survived by Matt (Leanne), Katie (Bryan), Meredith, Lauren, Emma, Cameron, Ryan (Kim), McKenzie, Samantha and Danielle. He was a great-grandpa to Ava, Khloe and Devonte.
Jim passed away on April 29, 2017 from complications caused by leukemia. With Jan by his side and family filling the room, he left us knowing he was loved.
We will miss Jim always and we are comforted knowing the impact he had on the lives of his many good friends and family.
