James Austin Shelly Jr. was born October 23, 1938 to Ellen and James (Phillips) A. Shelly Sr. at Sarasota, Florida. Family moved to Portland where he graduated from David Douglas High School, class of 1957 and 2 years of college. He served in the Navy from 1958-1962. He married Joanne Phelan on June 28, 1958 at Los Angeles, CA. Lived most of his life in the Beaver Creek area before moving to Woodburn. He was a member of the Masonic & Shrine at Wilsonville Lodge. James is survived by his spouse Joanne, and 4 children; James A. Shelly III of Canby, Ronald Shelly of California, Steve Shelly of Clackamas and Dennis Shelly of Texas. 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.Visitation will be held Mon. March 5, 2012 from 1-5 pm at Cornwell Colonial Chapel- Woodburn. Graveside Service will be held Wed. March 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Willamette National Cemetery- Portland with Military Honors.
