James Allen "Jim" Seymore was born Oct. 21, 1927 in Stewart, MS to
Percy and Fanny (Power) Seymore. Jim lived in Stewart with his parents and siblings; Sis,
Percy Jr., Pat and Marlene until he joined military. He was a Navy Gunner and
proudly served his country during WWII. He was stationed in Bremerton, WA and
after discharge, moved to Portland, OR. He married Virgrnia Lee Dagsland in June
1953. They had two children; Kent Alan and Terri Lynn. He worked for Fred Meyer for twenty years and then bought Whiskey Hill Store outside Hubbard, OR in 1976.
He sold the store in 1983 and worked for First Student of Woodburn driving bus
for 15 years. Jim loved to drive and took many road trips around the United States,
stopping at as many roadside attractions as time would allow. His generous spirit, loving heart and outrageous sense of humor will be missed by many.
Jim is survived by Virginia ,daughter Terri Lynn, sister Marlene, grandson Jordan and companion Norma.
He was preceded in death by his son Kent in 2002.
Funeral service with military honors will be held Wed. July 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM
at Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel- Woodburn, OR
Private burial at Willamette National Cemetery.
