James "Jim" Norman Blackler of Woodburn, Oregon, passed away on July 29, 2023, in Tualatin, Oregon. He was born on November 29, 1946, in Portland, Oregon. Jim was a proud Marine who dedicated seven years to active duty, including two tours in Vietnam. After his military service, he pursued a career in telecommunications, where he worked for many years before happily retiring.
Jim had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies, especially fishing, hunting, and spending time at his beach house. These activities allowed him to connect with friends and find peace in the tranquility of the great outdoors.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Wanda, his three daughters, two sons-in-law, eight grandchildren, and his brother and sister. He adored his grandchildren and took great pleasure in watching them grow and thrive. Jim's love for his family was immeasurable, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
A celebration honoring Jim's life will be held on Wednesday, August 16 at 12:30 p.m. at the Milwaukie Elks Lodge, 13121 SE McLoughlin Blvd, Milwaukie, Oregon.
Jim's dedication to his country, successful career, and love for his family, friends and hobbies will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
