James Andrew Lind, 74, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. James was born November 8, 1940 in Tacoma, Washington to James and Mary Lind. He lived there until the age of 12. The family moved to North Bend, Oregon in 1952. James grew up and graduated high school in North Bend in 1959. Jim was active in baseball, even as he raised his three sons. James married the love of his life Mary Fosmore on November 25, 1960. James was a natural groceryman as he worked for Safeway, McKays and Casey's Markets. He worked his way up the ladder quickly in to management positions. While working for Casey's Market in Schisa, California, James and Mary made a decision to load up their family and belongings and headed to Woodburn, Oregon and purchased the first of four Linds Markets.

James loved to golf and fish on the beautiful Siletz River when they built their retirement home. James loved to entertain his family and friends with hours of enjoyment playing games.

James was preceed in death by his son Eric Lind, his parents James and Mary Lind, his wife Mary and his brother Richard Lind.

James is survived by his son James Lind of Woodburn, his son Robert Lind and daughter in law Judy Lind of Mount Angel, daughter in law Vicki Lind of Sherwood and 9 grandchildren, sister
Maxine Huntsacker, sister Maryann Rood and brother in law David of Florence, Oregon, sister in law Barbara Lind of Woodburn, OR, cousin Dorthelen and Ken Nathe of Tacoma, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. His recent love Linda Willis of Woodburn and their companion Patch, a lasso apso pooch.

Services will be on Monday August 17, 2015 at 10:00am at Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn. Graveside and reception to follow. Viewing Saturday August 15 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Simon Cornwell Colonial Chapel-Woodburn.
