Holly Paulson passed away peacefully on Sunday February 5, 2017. She was 98 years old.
Her long and active life began in Comstock, Nebraska when she was born to Clarence and Lillian Woodward on July 15, 1918. She grew up on a farm near Archer, Nebraska and graduated from Archer High School in 1936. After the failure of their farm, due to drought and dust storms, the family moved to Silverton, Oregon. It was there she met Lewis (Ole) Paulson. They were married in 1938 and made their home in Woodburn, Oregon for more than 75 years.
Three children were born to the couple: Barbara, Beth and Julie. Holly devoted herself to creating a loving and happy family. She excelled in homemaking skills and was also an accomplished seamstress. She volunteered in school events, Campfire Girls and many community activities. She was an active member of the Woodburn United Methodist Church where she especially enjoyed the friends of her Ladies' Circle and singing in the choir.
Holly's interests revolved around music, gardening, sewing, and quilting. With family and friends, she enjoyed golf, camping, elk hunting, fishing and travel. Holly's health remained strong all through her 80's and early 90's. She participated in many happy events with her children and grandchildren.
Following Lewis' passing in 2013, Holly resided at Silver Creek Senior Living in Woodburn. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Cook, Beth Wright and Julie Sallquist, many nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
A private interment will be held by the family at the Belle Passi Mausoleum. Arrangements are being taken care of by Simon-Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn, Oregon.
