Obituary

Herman Anthony Kloer left this earth on Tuesday, 2/21/12 surrounded by his loving family. Herman was a hardworking, dependable, honest and strong willed man with a big gentle heart. He was the kind of man that animals and little children loved. They could sense his gentle heart like only the innocent do.Herman was born and raised in Oregon City, Oregon until moving to Clarks Four Corners to the farm he lived on for over 60 years. Herman served in WWII as a Army Paratrooper spending most of his military service in the Philipppines. Along with working the farm with his younger brother Ed, Herman held a full-time job at Publishers Sawmill in Molalla for over 35 years. Working the farm in the morning and his job on the swing shift. He was nicknamed "The Iron Man" at his job because he was never late or missed a day due to illness or anything else. On the family farm he raised everything from berries to beef over the years and was known by all to be dedicated to everything he did and honored everything he said. He loved the farm and especially the timber that he raised right up to the end of his life. Herman was married to Nora Kloer for 43 years. She was his second wife. Herman was married to Joan Davis and had 5 children. Nora had 4 children. Together they helped to raise 9 children, 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Nora preceded Herman in death in 2010.Herman is survived by his 5 children: Sue Danskey (husband Dan Danskey), Cheroyl Erickson (husband Todd Erickson), Tony Kloer, Vicki Kloer and Mike Kloer. By Nora's 4 children; Don Roberts, Diane Wilson (husband Roger Wilson), Terry Roberts and Norma Wyland and his loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.He will be sorely missed by his family and the many longtime neighbors and friends he leaves behind. There were many, because everyone loved Herman.Funeral service will be held Monday- February 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Cornwell Colonial Chapel- Woodburn, Oregon with Military Honors
